Having attended Westminster, and being part of a long line of family members who have been positively impacted by the College, I realize the importance of a liberal arts program which provides opportunities for students to deepen their faith and be challenged to greater understand, experience and respond to the needs of the world in which they live.

During his years teaching at Westminster, my father felt strongly that field experiences were invaluable for bringing academic learning to life. Therefore, we established The Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Hopkins ’40 Mission and Ministry Endowed Fund in his memory to help do just that. Our hope is to continue inspiring the next generation of Westminster students, of various disciplines, by helping to provide them with real-life opportunities to learn outside the classroom and grow in their faith, thereby broadening their education and impact on the world around them. We give in order to create the opportunity to provide a legacy for other Westminster students, a legacy which has impacted our family in such a viable way.
